A CRAFTSMAN OR LAUNDERER (Yerushalmi Halachah 5 Daf 10b)

ראה עבדו אל האומן וכליו אל הכובס אמר לו תן לי עבדי תן לי כיליי אמר לו אתה נתתו לי במתנה אתה מכרתו לי אינה חזקה

(a)

If he saw his slave in the craftsman's possession or his clothes in the launderer's possession and asked them to be returned, if they said, "You gave it to me as a gift'' or "You sold it to me'', it is not a chazakah.

אתה אמרת לי למוכרו אתה אמרת ליתנו לי מתנה הרי זו חזקה:

But if the owner saw it in the possession of someone else and that person said, "I bought it from the craftsman'' and the craftsman claimed, "You told me to sell it'', it is a chazakah.
