The Mishnah taught: If (the deathly ill person) wrote at the beginning, the middle or the end that it is a gift, it takes effect.

R. Hoshiya: The Mishnah means that it takes effect with any of the following wordings (with the word 'give' always implying a gift)- "Give to Ploni an inheritance that I have bequeathed''; "Ploni should inherit a gift that I have bequeathed''' or "Ploni should inherit the inheritance that I have given him''.
