What was Avishai ben Zaruah's hava amina to not use Dovid Hamelech's mule in order to save Dovid's life? Second, why when he is told he can use the king's horse does he in fact use his mule? Isn't a mule/donkey less chashiv than a horse? Why would a king even bother owning a mule/donkey? And if he would bother why wouldn't Avishai use a horse, which is probably the faster animal?
