Rabbi Yisrael Shaw

Rabbi Yisrael Shaw has been a senior member of Kollel Iyun Hadaf's Dafyomi Advancement Forum since 1997.

Rabbi Shaw, originally from Atlanta, Georgia, studied at Yeshiva Ner Israel (Baltimore), Merkaz HaTorah (Jerusalem), Midrash Shmuel (Jerusalem), and Yeshivat Ofakim. He received rabbinical ordination in 1996. He holds a B.A. from State University of New York. He has lived in Israel since 1989, and he now resides in Telstone with his wife and children.

Rabbi Shaw's first major project was the production of the O.U.'s "Halacha Yomis" (the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America's monthly journal on practical Jewish law, published by NCSY), which he headed for two years. He has translated and edited dozens of Jewish books and publications, including "The Malbim Haggadah", Rabbi N. Slifkin's "The Torah Universe" project, and the "Yoruslav-Litovisk Publications", which he directed.
