SUMMARY
There is a dispute among the Tana'im regarding writing Tefilin and Mezuzos for others on Chol ha'Mo'ed. (1) A person may spin Techeles on his thigh on Chol ha'Mo'ed. (2) There is a dispute between the Tana Kama and Aba Shaul regarding how many days of mourning must pass prior to Yom Tov so that the thirty days mourning period will be repealed. (3) The Chachamim agree with Aba Shaul that if the eighth day of mourning falls out on Erev Yom Tov that falls out on Shabbos, it is permitted to take a haircut on Erev Shabbos. The thirty days mourning period is learned from a Nazir. If a Nazir does not specify a time period at the time of his vow, he is a Nazir for thirty days. Everybody agrees that if the third day of mourning is on Erev Yom Tov that it is forbidden to bathe prior to Yom Tov.
A BIT MORE
1. According to Rebbi Meir a person may write Tefilin and Mezuzos for others if he is not receiving money for it. Rebbi Yehudah holds that it is permitted to engage in deception, by means of selling your own Tefilin or Mezuzos and subsequently writing another one for yourself. Rebbi Yosi holds that one may write Tefilin and Mezuzos for others even if he is receiving money for it. 2. Rebbi Eliezer holds that a person may not use a stone to spin the Techeles, Rebbi Yehudah holds he may use a stone but not a spinning needle and the Chachamim hold he may also use a spinning needle. 3. According to the Chachamim if a close relative was buried eight days prior to Yom Tov it is permitted to take a haircut on Erev Yom Tov, however if he failed to do so he may not take a haircut after Yom Tov.

BRIEF INSIGHT
Aba Shaul holds that if a close relative was buried seven days prior to Yom Tov it is permitted to take a haircut on Erev Yom Tov and if he failed to do so he may take a haircut after Yom Tov. Rashi says that according to Rebbi Yosi it is permitted to write Tefilin and Mezuzos in order to sell them even if you have food for Yom Tov. However the Rambam holds that it is only permitted if you don't have food. The basis of the dispute is that the Rambam holds that there is no Mitzvah to wear Tefilin on during Chol ha'Mo'ed and therefore there are no special dispensations with regards to writing and selling Tefilin. However Rashi holds that it is a Mitzvah to wear Tefilin on Chol ha'Mo'ed. Therefore it is permitted to write and sell them even if you don't need the money, since it is for the purpose of a Mitzvah. (Kesef Mishneh, Beis Yosef)
QUICK HALACHAH
A person may write Tefilin and Mezuzos for himself and may spin on his thigh Techeles and Tzitzis for his clothing. If a person does not have what to eat or he needs more money for his Yom Tov expenses, he may write Tefilin and Mezuzos in order to sell to others. If one is writing them in order to put them on during the Moed it is permitted [even if he has everything he needs for Yom Tov]. The prohibition [to write in order sell to others] only applies to the writing, the crafting of the Tefilin and Mezuzos is always permitted. (Shulchan Aruch OC 545:3 ) The crafting of the Tefilin and Mezuzos are permitted even if they are not needed until after Yom Tov. The reason is that since it is for the purpose of a Mitzvah the Rabanan did not prohibit it. (Mishnah Berura)
