SUMMARY
1. A vessel combines the items inside of it when one of them becomes Tamei.
2. Rebbi Akiva says that this rule (#1) applies not only to edible Kodesh, but even to other Kodesh items.
3. Rebbi Yochanan understands that according to Rebbi Akiva, this Tum'ah (#1 and #2) is mid'Rabanan.
4. Rebbi Chanin: This law (#1) is mid'Oraisa.
5. Rebbi Akiva: There is no decree of Tum'ah of hands in the Beis ha'Mikdash.

A BIT MORE
1. This means that if a vessel contains two separate items that are not touching each other and a source of Tum'ah touches one of them, they both become Tamei (even if the Tamei item is not touching the vessel). However, this applies only to Kodesh, not to Terumah.
2. He includes incense and coals as items that can become Tamei by being in the same vessel as another item that became Tamei.
3. This is because Rebbi Akiva includes items that are not edible, and, therefore, mid'Oraisa they cannot become Tamei.
4. Rebbi Chanin says that the words, "one spoon," teach that incense becomes Tamei when it is in the same vessel as another item that became Tamei.
5. The Chachamim did not apply this decree in the Beis ha'Mikdash, so that people's hands should not cause some Kodshim to be deemed Tamei.
