A BIT MORE
1. He would walk along an illuminated, underground path that leads to a Mikvah. After his immersion, he would return to warm himself by the fire used by the other Kohanim. 2. The name was used because the policy was to close the bathroom door and lock it in order to indicate that it was occupied. If it was vacant, the door was open. 3. Anyone who wanted to participate in the lottery would immerse himself in a Mikvah beforehand in order to be ready to perform the Terumas ha'Deshen in the event that he was chosen. 4. This Halachah is derived either from the verse, "Aharon and his sons (a total of three) who guard...," or from the second part of the verse, "guarding the guarding (i.e. multiple guardings) of the holy." 5. The Gemara explains that it is inappropriate to brings beds into the Beis ha'Mikdash.
