A BIT MORE
1. One opinion says that "clothing" means only items made of wool or linen (see Daf 26, #4). Rava says that it can refer to all types of clothing. 2. Wool or linen Tzitzis may be used to fulfill the Mitzvah of Tzitzis on a garment made from any material. Tzitzis made from any other material may be used only for a garment of the same material. 3. The Gemara concludes that this means that a garment normally worn only at night is not obligated in Tzitzis. 4. This is like the law of any house which contains a corpse, where everything in the house (besides the house itself) becomes Tamei. An exception to this rule is flax; if the house is made of flax, the house also becomes Tamei if a corpse is in it. 5. This is derived from the verse in Yehoshua, "And she hid them in the flax of the tree."
