SUMMARY

1. If the person who slaughters the Korban has a Machshavah of Pigul to eat part of the Korban which is not normally eaten, or a Machshavah to burn something on the Mizbe'ach which is not normally burned on the Mizbe'ach, the Korban is valid. Rebbi Eliezer disagrees.

2. Rav Huna says that the hide of the fat tail of a lamb is not considered the same as the fat tail. Rav Chisda disagrees.

3. If a person slaughters an Olah with intent to burn the hide of the fat tail, or the hide of the hoof of a small animal, or the hide of the head of a young goat, on the Mizbe'ach after the allotted time, the Korban is Pigul according to Rebbi Yakov and Rebbi Shimon.

4. If a person slaughters a Korban with intent to eat it outside the allotted place, the Korban may not be eaten. There is no Chiyuv Kares for a person who eats it.

5. Pigul applies only to a Korban for which a Matir is brought on the Mizbe'ach (which allows it to be eaten by a person or burned on the Mizbe'ach).

6. A Korban does not become Pigul until the blood is sprinkled on the Mizbe'ach.

7. If a Korban is eaten after the allotted time, it does not become Pigul retroactively, if it was not offered with a Machshavah of Pigul.

A BIT MORE

1. For example, if one intends to eat the Eimurim after the allotted time for that Korban, or to burn the flesh of the Korban on the Mizbe'ach after the allotted time, the Korban is valid according to the Tana Kama. Rebbi Eliezer maintains that the Korban is Pigul.

2. According to Rav Huna, when a lamb is brought as a Shelamim, the fat tail is consumed on the Mizbe'ach, but the hide of the fat tail is not. Rav Chisda says that the hide of the fat tail is consumed on the Mizbe'ach along with the fat tail.

3. According to Rav Huna, intent to burn the fat tail on the Mizbe'ach after the allotted time renders only an Olah, but not a Shelamim, Pigul, because an Olah is entirely consumed on the Mizbe'ach. Rav Chisda maintains that it applies to a Shelamim as well, unless it is the fat tail of a goat which is not consumed on the Mizbe'ach.

4. However, if the Korban was slaughtered with intent to eat the Korban outside the allotted place, there is a Chiyuv Kares for a person who eats the Korban.

5. Pigul does not apply to a Minchas Kohen, a Minchas Kohen Gadol, or a Minchas Nesachim, because they are completely consumed on the Mizbe'ach and have no Matir.

6. If the blood of the Korban spills before it is sprinkled on the Mizbe'ach, the Korban is not Pigul. A person who eats the Korban is not Chayav Kares.

7. A Korban becomes Pigul only when the Kohen has in mind, at the time he performs one of the Avodos, that he will eat from the Korban after the allotted time.
