MENACHOS 45 - dedicated by Rabbi Kornfeld's father in memory of his aunt, Malka Gitel bas Reb Yakov Mordechai (Malvina Marmorstein), who took him into her home and raised him like her own child after the Holocaust. Her Yahrzeit is 20 Nisan.

SUMMARY

1. The Parim, Eilim, and Kevasim that accompany the two breads on Shavuos may be offered even if the Parim, Eilim, and Kevasim of the Musafim are not offered.

2. The Parim and Kevasim of the Musafim of Shavuos may be brought one without the other.

3. Two Parim and seven Kevasim are offered as the Musafim on Rosh Chodesh. If there is only one Par, or fewer than seven Kevasim, they nevertheless should be offered.

4. Korbanos Milu'im were offered during the time of Ezra, upon the completion of the second Beis ha'Mikdash, just as Milu'im were offered during the time of Moshe Rabeinu, upon the completion of the Mishkan.

5. If seven Shevatim acted upon an erroneous decision of the Beis Din ha'Gadol, a Par He'elem Davar must be brought.

6. Rebbi Shimon says that if there is enough money to buy all of the Parim required for the Musaf, but not enough for the Nesachim for all of the Parim, it is preferable to bring only one Par with its Nesachim rather than all of the Parim without their Nesachim.

7. The Parim, Eilim, Kevasim, and Sa'ir which are offered with the two breads on Shavuos may be offered without the breads, and the breads may be offered without the Korbanos.

8. The two breads of Shavuos may be offered without the two Kivsei Atzeres. However, the two Kivsei Atzeres may not be offered without the two breads, according to Rebbi Akiva. Rebbi Shimon ben Nanas says that the opposite is true.

9. Rebbi Tarfon says that the Kevasim offered with the two breads were not brought in the Midbar.

A BIT MORE

1. One Parim, two Eilim, and seven Kevasim are brought with the two breads. Two Parim, one Ayil, and seven Kevasim are brought with the Musafim.

2. If there is only one Par or one Keves for the Musafim, it is offered, but the Korbanos that accompany the two breads may not be offered one without the other.

3. Even if there is only one Keves, it should be offered, but if there is more than one and less than seven, as many as there are should be offered.

4. During the time of Ezra, a Par was brought as a Chatas on Rosh Chodesh of the Milu'im, just as a calf was brought as a Chatas on the eighth day of the Milu'im, which was Rosh Chodesh Nisan, during the time of Moshe Rabeinu.

5. Even if the majority of Yisrael did not act upon the decision of Beis Din, a Par He'elem Davar is brought since the majority of the Shevatim acted upon the decision.

6. The same is true regarding the Eilim of the Musafim. If there is not enough money for the Nesachim, it is preferable to bring one Ayil with its Nesachim rather than all of the Eilim without their Nesachim.

7. The Parim, Eilim, and Kevasim are Olos. The Sa'ir is a Chatas.

8. According to Rebbi Shimon ben Nanas, the two Kivsei Atzeres may be offered without the two breads, because Bnei Yisrael did not bring the breads in the Midbar, since they had only the Man. Nevertheless, they offered the two Kivsei Atzeres.

9. Since the two breads were not brought in the Midbar, the Kevasim also were not brought, according to Rebbi Tarfon. However, only the Kevasim, Eilim, and Par which are mentioned in Toras Kohanim were not brought in the Midbar, since they are brought because of the two breads. The Kevasim, Ayil, and Parim mentioned in Bamidbar, which are brought for the Musafim, were brought in the Midbar, even according to Rebbi Tarfon.
