SUMMARY

1. Rebbi Meir says that if a Litra (a certain weight) of dried figs of Terumah was pressed into the mouth of a jar of figs, and it is not known into which jar it was pressed, according to Rebbi Eliezer the figs on the bottom are counted toward the Bitul of the Terumah.

2. Rebbi Yehoshua says that the Terumah is Batel only when there are one hundred jars of Chulin, and it is not known into which jar the figs of Terumah were pressed.

3. Rebbi Yehudah says that according to Rebbi Eliezer, the Terumah is Batel only if there are one hundred jars of Chulin. According to Rebbi Yehoshua, even if there are three hundred jars of Chulin, the Terumah is not Batel.

4. If a Litra of dried figs of Terumah was pressed deep into a jar of figs and it is not known into which part of the jar it was pressed, everyone agrees that it is Batel.

5. Rav Ashi says that animals are considered prominent and are never Batel.

6. A prohibited item in a mixture which is "Kavu'a" is not Batel, even when the majority of items are permitted.

7. An item that separates from a mixture of prohibited and permitted items is considered to have separated from the majority.

8. If a Chatas ha'Meisah is mixed with other Korbanos, all of them must be put to death. Even if one of the animals is separated from the mixture, it may not be used as a Korban.

9. If a Chatas ha'Of becomes mixed with Olos ha'Of, or an Olah ha'Of becomes mixed with Chata'os ha'Of, even if it is one in a thousand, they are all put to death.

10. One Chatas ha'Of becomes mixed with one Olas ha'Of. The Kohen errs and brings both on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach, or both on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach. One is valid and one is not.

11. If the Kohen brought one of them on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach and one of them on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach, both are Pasul.

A BIT MORE

1. When the Terumah figs are at the top of the jar and not at the bottom, according to Rebbi Eliezer the figs on the bottom count toward the Bitul. If there are one hundred parts of Chulin, the Terumah is Batel.

2. According to Rebbi Yehoshua, the figs at the bottom of the jars are not counted toward the Bitul. Therefore, the Terumah is Batel only if there are one hundred jars of Chulin.

3. Rebbi Yehudah maintains that according to Rebbi Yehoshua, since pressed figs are sometimes counted when they are sold, they are never Batel even though the Terumah of figs is only d'Rabanan.

4. Even according to Rebbi Yehoshua, who says that pressed figs are never Batel, in this case since the figs of Terumah were pressed into the figs of Chulin, they lost their prominence and are Batel in one hundred parts of Chulin.

5. Therefore, if a Chatas ha'Meisah becomes mixed with other Korbanos, it is not Batel. All of the animals must be put to death.

6. If a prohibited item is mixed with other items, even if the prohibited item is a minority of the entire mixture, every item is prohibited out of doubt when it is "Kavu'a" ("in its place" and not separated from the others in the group). In such a case ("Kavu'a"), the mixture is considered to be half prohibited and half permitted, and the principle of Rov (majority) does not apply to permit each item in the mixture.

7. When a prohibited item is mixed with permitted items, if the prohibited item is a minority and one of the items is separated from a mixture and taken out of its place it is considered to have come from the permitted majority.

8. Although anything that is separated from a mixture is considered to have come from the majority, the Rabanan decreed that it may not be brought as a Korban. There is a concern that it will be taken from the mixture while it is still in its place, before it becomes separated from the mixture.

9. It is not possible to redeem a bird after it develops a Mum. Birds cannot be redeemed. Therefore, there is no choice but to put them to death.

10. A Chatas ha'Of must be offered on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach. An Olas ha'Of must be brought on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach. Therefore, one of them is Pasul.

11. Since it is possible that the Chatas was brought on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach and the Olah was brought on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach, both are Pasul.
