SUMMARY

1. If one eats an olive's size amount from each of the right and left Gid ha'Nasheh, he receives two sets of Malkus, according to the Tana Kama. Rebbi Yehudah says that he receives only one set of once.

2. A son is unsure about which of two men is his real father. If he hits or curses both men, he is Chayav regardless of whether he did it to both at the same time or one after the other.

3. According to Rebbi Yehudah, he is not Chayav unless he hit or cursed both men at the same time.

4. If one eats the Gid ha'Nasheh of two separate animals, he receives two sets of Malkus, according to the Tana Kama. Rebbi Yehudah says that he receives only one set of Malkus.

5. If one happens upon a Nochri while traveling, he should keep the Nochri at his right side.

6. One who walks to the right of his Rebbi while traveling lacks Derech Eretz.

7. Yakov Avinu crossed over Nachal Yabok in order to retrieve some small jars that he had left behind, because the possessions of Tzadikim are dearer to them than their own bodies.

8. The sun that set early for Yakov in Beis El rose early for him in order to help him recover from his injury.

9. Hashem folded up the entire land of Eretz Yisrael underneath Yakov Avinu so that it would be easier for his descendants to conquer it.

10. The Jewish people are dearer to Hashem than the angels, because they say Shirah to Hashem at all times, while the angels say Shirah infrequently.

A BIT MORE

1. According to Rebbi Yehudah, only the right Gid ha'Nasheh is forbidden.

2. His mother remarried a second man within three months after being divorced from her first husband. She gave birth to a child who might be a ninth-month baby of the first husband, or a seventh-month baby of the second husband. Therefore, the son is Chayav only if he hits or curses both men.

3. According to this Tana, Rebbi Yehudah maintains that a Hasra'as Safek is not a valid Hasra'ah, and therefore the son is not Chayav if he hits or curses both men, one after the other, because the Hasra'ah that he received was a Safek Hasra'ah.

4. He ate an olive-size amount of one Gid ha'Nasheh, and the second Gid ha'Nasheh was less than the size of an olive. According to the Tana Kama, he is Chayav for the second Gid ha'Nasheh as well, even though it is less than the size of an olive, because it is a Biryah (a complete tendon). According to Rebbi Yehudah, he is Chayav only for eating a Gid ha'Nasheh that is at least the size of an olive.

5. He should keep the Nochri at his right in order to be ready to fend off the Nochri with his right hand in the event that the Nochri attempts to attack him.

6. One should walk to the left of his Rebbi and trail a little bit behind him.

7. Tzadikim stay far away from theft, and therefore their possessions are very dear to them.

8. When Yakov travelled to Charan and failed to stop at Beis El to pray, he realized that he had passed up an opportunity to pray at the place where his forefathers prayed. When he returned to pray, Hashem made the sun set early so that he would spend the night there.

9. The entire Eretz Yisrael was folded up into four Amos underneath Yakov Avinu.

10. The Jewish people mention the name of Hashem after two words, while angels mention the name of Hashem only after three words. The angels do not say Shirah in heaven until Yisrael says Shirah on earth.
