A BIT MORE
1. While the Chachamim understand that the board does not have to be tied to the wall before Shabbos in order to be permitted to be used on Shabbos, they do understand that it has to be designated for such usage before Shabbos. 2. Tana Kama: Covers of vessels that have handles may be moved. Rebbi Yosi: Only covers for holes in the ground require handles in order not to be Muktzah, but covers of vessels do not require handles. 3. All agree that covers of holes in the ground require handles, and that covers of vessels do not require handles. The Tana Kama rules that the covers of vessels attached to the ground (i.e. an oven) also require handles. Rebbi Yosi says that they do not. 4. We are not concerned that this is inappropriate work to perform on Shabbos, since it is needed for a Mitzvah (i.e. to feed guests or enable them to hear a Torah lecture). 5. For example, Terumah Tehorah may be moved; untithed grain may not be moved.
