DAF DISCUSSIONS - BERACHOS 25

Shmuel Siegel asks:

the text of the insites says that Rabbi Yehudah says that you can say shema until the third hour of the day. why are you mentioning Rabbi Yehudah instead of Rabbi Yeshua?

Also please note that Rav Amram Gaon, in his siddur, says that until the third hour means till the beginning of the third hour.

Shmuel Siegel, yerushalayim

The Kollel replies:

You are correct. It should state, "Rebbi Yehoshua" and not "Rebbi Yehudah."

Thanks for the note regarding the opinion of Rav Amram Gaon. Since it is not the accepted opinion in Halachah, it is understandably not mentioned when it is discussed in brief fashion in an Insight.

All the best,

Yaakov Montrose
