Aaron Kaplan asks:

A couple of questions about the dreams gemaras. First of all we have one gemara that mentions doing hatavas chalom, but on the other hand it sounds like as long as someone can give it a good interpretation thats enough. Is hatavas chalom just in a case where someone doesn't give him a good interpretation?

Secondly, in general how do we understand the idea that someone's interpretation can affect someone else? Lechora, if it was decided on Rosh Hashana then it will happen then it will, if not not. But it sounds like from this gemara that the interpreter can decide this person's fate. Unless you want to say that the dreamer would have anyways had that certain amount of tzar anyway, but that's not the way it sounds from the gemara.

thank you for your help
