(Mishnah): Stam Nezirus is 30 days. If he shaved or was shaved by bandits (before completion), this nullifies 30 days.

If a Nazir shaved, whether with scissors or a Ta'ar (razor), or uprooted any amount (even one hair), he is liable.

A Nazir may rub (shampoo) his hair, and may separate the hairs, but he may not comb his hair.

R. Yishmael says, he may not shampoo with earth, because it causes hair to fall out.

Question: We know [that shaving cancels] for Nazir Tahor. What is the source for a Nazir Tamei?

Answer - Question: "V'Gilach Rosho b'Yom Taharaso" - why does it say [also] "ba'Yom ha'Shevi'i Yegalchenu"?

Answer: This teaches that [if a Nazir Tamei shaved before day seven,] he returns and shaves [again after becoming Tahor. He must wait seven days, for cutting less than seven days growth of hair is not called shaving. - PNEI MOSHE] "V'Gilach" - all, and not part. This teaches that if he left over two hairs, he did not do anything (it is not considered that he shaved).

"Ta'ar Lo Yavo Al Rosho" teaches (forbids) only a razor. What is the source [to forbid] uprooting and scissors, like a razor? It says "Lo Yavo Al Rosho" - this implies anything that removes [hair];
[ö"ì îä úìîåã ìåîø úòø - ÷øáï äòãä] îéëï ùàéðå ñåúø áå àìà úòø áìáã
Why does it say "Ta'ar"? This teaches that only a razor cancels. (He is lashed for other removers, but they do not cancel.)

Question (R. Ba bar Mamal and R. Ila, to R. Yosa): [Other removers] should not cancel 30 [days], but they should cancel seven!
ìà áùàéðå ñåúø áå ìà ùáòä åìà ùìùéí
Version #1 - Answer (R. Yosa): No. [The verse excludes them;] they do not cancel seven, and not 30.
àéï úéîø ìà éñúøå áå ùìùéí
Suggestion: Perhaps [a razor] does not cancel 30!

Rejection: [If so,] what is the difference between a Nazir Tahor and a Nazir Tamei (i.e. what is the stringency of the former)? A Beraisa teaches a leniency and stringency in a Nazir Tahor (that does not apply to a Nazir Tamei), and a leniency and stringency in a Nazir Tamei (that does not apply to a Nazir Tahor)!

(Beraisa): A leniency of a Nazir Tahor - he cancels [due to shaving] only through a razor. A stringency - he cancels 30;

A leniency of a Nazir Tamei - he cancels [only] seven days. A stringency - all [ways of removing hair] cancel for him.

Summation of rejection: If you will say that [a razor] does not cancel 30, what is the difference between a Nazir Tahor and a Nazir Tamei (i.e. how is a Nazir Tahor more stringent)?

Version #2 - Answer (R. Yosa): [If you will say that other removers cancel seven], what is the difference between scissors and a razor [after Melos] of a Nazir Tahor, according to R. Eliezer (who says that he cancels only seven days)?!
Note: A razor is more stringent before Melos! Also OHR YAKOV left this difficult.
