Alternative text: Some texts say "Yehudah" (without the title "Rebbi").

Rebuttal (R. Tam): We say in Mo'ed Katan (9a) that when R. Yehudah ben Gerim and R. Shimon ben Chalifta departed from R. Shimon ben Yochai, [R. Shimon] said to his son "these men are men of stature (importance). Go to them, so they should bless you!" This implies that R. Yehudah ben Gerim was a great Chacham!

At the end of our Sugya, the text should not say "a mound of bones", which is an expression of disgrace, rather, "he died.'
