Answer (R. Yonah Butzriya): It is Tarkason (Safek) - is [the Amah it occupies] like inside (Kodesh ha'Kodoshim), or like outside (Kodesh)?

(R. Yosi): Since it says "v'Arba'im ba'Amah Hayah ha'Bayis Hu ha'Heichal Lifnai'', this shows that it is like inside. (If not, the Heichal would be 41 Amos.)

Objection (R. Mana): However, it says "va'Ya'as Es Beis Kodesh ha'Kodoshim Esrim Amah'' - this shows that it is like outside! (Rather, the verses count only the interior, so we cannot resolve from them whether it is like inside or outside.)

What is the reason of Rabanan [who say that there were two Parochos? It says "v'Hivdilah ha'Paroches Lachem...'' (SHA'AREI TORAS ERETZ YISRAEL - the word "ha'Paroches'' is extra, to teach that there was a second Paroches).

What does R. Yosi learn from this? [There is a Paroches] both in between the Kodesh and] the Kodesh ha'Kodoshim above, and in [between the Kodesh and] the Kodesh ha'Kodoshim below.

Do Rabanan disagree? [No,] they agree [that there was a division], like a Mishnah teaches that heads of beams protruded from the wall to divide in the Aliyah between the Kodesh and the Kodesh ha'Kodoshim.
