1)[line 3]תן מחנה לזה ומחנה לזהTEN MACHANEH LA'ZEH U'MACHANEH LA'ZEH- set one camp [off-limits] for this one, and one camp [off-limits] for that one; i.e. one who is Tamei as a Zav and one Tamei with Tum'as Mes both are banished from Machaneh Shechinah (see Background to Zevachim 105:14). However, a Tamei Mes is permitted in Machaneh Leviyah, while a Zav is banished from Machaneh Leviyah as well.

2)[line 7]כולהו תלתא הווKULHU TELASA HAVU- all three Machanos were there (in Shilo)

3)[line 8]שתי מחנות לקליטהSHTEI MACHANOS L'KELITAH- [in Shiloh, there were] two Machanos for affording refuge for one who killed accidentally. This means that although the Machaneh Leviyah did not exist insofar as affording refuge to killers, it existed with regard to the laws of banishing Tamei individuals. (See Keren Orah to Zevachim 116b.)

4)[line 13]מפלך לפלךMI'PELACH L'PELACH- from one city to another city

117b----------------------------------------117b

5)[line 4]ישרותYESHAROS- voluntary offerings (Nedarim and Nedavos)

6)[line 5]מנחותMENACHOS

See Background to Menachos 2:1.

7)[line 9]תרומת לחמי תודהTERUMAS LACHMEI TODAH (LACHMEI TODAH)

See Background to Zevachim 89:25.

8)[line 18]"[בימים ההם אין מלך בישראל] איש הישר בעיניו יעשה""[BA'YAMIM HA'HEM EIN MELECH B'YISRAEL,] ISH HA'YASHAR B'EINAV YA'ASEH"- "[In those days there was no king in Yisrael,] each man did whatever was right in his eyes." (Shoftim 17:6). The Chachamim derive from this verse that individuals offered only voluntary offerings on the Bamah in the Mishkan (in the Midbar and Gilgal), while the Tzibur offering obligatory offerings.
