DNA of Creation

Is there a connection between the DNA shared by all known life on earth and Genesis 1:1?

Scientists are finding a hidden pattern in DNA and don't know what to make of it.

Consider the following news articles excerpts:
Professor Maxim Makukov has an idea. It's unorthodox; you might call it "out there". Makukov understands that. He knew he'd have his critics the moment he began to develop it. But it's there in the numbers, he says. And numbers don't lie.

A cosmologist and astrobiologist at the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Makukov says the numbers reveal that all terrestrial life came from outer space. Not only that, it was planted on Earth by intelligent aliens. Billions of years ago, the planet was barren and lifeless. But then, at some distant and unknowable moment, it was seeded with what Makukov calls an "intelligent-like signal" - a signal that is too orderly and intricate to have occurred randomly.

This signal, he says, is in our genetic code. Highly preserved across cosmological timescales, it has been waiting there, like an encrypted message, for anyone qualified to read it. All of the teeming varieties of life on Earth - from kangaroos and daffodils to albatrosses and us - carry it within them. And now Makukov, along with his mentor, mathematician Vladmir shCherbak of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, claims to have cracked it. If they are right, the answer to life, the universe and everything is 37... (see there for more)

Similarly:
Maxim Makukov from the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute in Almaty, Kazakhstan, claims to have discovered an "intelligent-like signal" that is encoded into our genetic material.

Although he admits that the theory is "out there", he and his research mentor, mathematician Vladmir Shcherbak, believe that they have conclusive evidence that a message, or a signature, is in our genetic code.

The two scientists have taken this one step further, and believe that life is a result of "direct panspermia" - something was intentionally sent towards Earth to kickstart life.

By analysing the genetic code - which is the set of rules which translate DNA into proteins and does not alter as it is passed down through generations - they note that the number 37 crops up several times.

One instance is that the mass of the molecular core shared by all 20 amino acids is 74 - which is 37 doubled.

Another is in "Rumer's transformation". Yuri Rumer first identified in 1966 that the genetic code can be divided equally in half, with one half being "whole family" codons - a codon being three structural units within DNA - and the other half being "split family", which do not have the AC code, an amino acid that is used to build proteins.

There are a total of 28 codons which have a total atomic mass of 1665 and a combined side chain atomic mass of 703 - both of which are multiples of 37.

The scientists have a total of nine examples in their research paper published in Icarus, where they state that the chances of the number 37 appearing this many times by random in the genetic code is a staggering one in 10 trillion.

Prof Makukov told New Scientist: "It was clear right away that the code has a non-random structure."

"The patterns that we describe are simply non-random."

"Maybe they're gone long ago. Maybe they're still alive."

"They have some features that, at least from our point of view, were very hard to ascribe to natural processes."

As for what planted the message, the Kazakh scientist says: "Maybe they're gone long ago. Maybe they're still alive. I think these are questions for the future.

"For the patterns in the code, the explanation we give, we think is the most plausible."

End quote.

Hmmm, they got to 37/703 and 28 without knowing the first verse?

As before, 37 plays a central role in the Genesis 1:1 number structure.

The Gematria of the entire verse is 2701=37×73

Its primary numeric and geometric split is 703/1998.

Primary Split in Verse
בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית בָּרָ֣א אֱ-לֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְאֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ
1998 703
Total=2701

1998=37×54
703=37×19
Interestingly, 7+0+3+1+9+9+8=37 and 1/2701=0.00037..

37 also shows up unusually in the word combinations. Genesis 1:1 contains 7 words. Thus, the number of unique combinations of words is 27-1 = 127 unique combinations[1] (see them all here)

A plot of the factors of these 127 combinations of words shows an anomalous appearance of 37 - just like in DNA!

Hebrew Letters

Note also that the building blocks of creation, the Hebrew alphabet is also built around 37. In the Talmud: "Betzalel knew how to join the letters with which Heaven and Earth were created" (Berachot 55a).

There are 22 letters + 5 end letters = 27 letters.

According to the "Ayak Bachar" arrangement, the Hebrew alphabet is grouped into 9 groups of 3 letters as follows (isn't that beautiful?):
Hebrew Alphabet Groups
א י ק=111=37×(1+1+1)
ב כ ר=222=37×(2+2+2)
ג ל ש=333=37×(3+3+3)
ד מ ת=444=37×(4+4+4)
ה נ ך=555=37×(5+5+5)
ו ס ם=666=37×(6+6+6)
ז ע ן=777=37×(7+7+7)
ח פ ף=888=37×(8+8+8)
ט צ ץ=999=37×(9+9+9)

Note that Professor Maxim Makukov has also found some fascinating symmetries in DNA similar in nature to the mirror symmetries we saw in Genesis 1:1

He has put out a short video on this which can be seen here (under supplementary materials)

More on the 127 Word Combinations

Observe the following perfection.

As before, the 7 words in Genesis 1:1 can be combined into 27-1 = 127 unique word combinations. Of these, 23 of them have 37 as a factor (random chance would indicate only about 3 factors of 37). They are:

23 Instances of Factor 37
nword comboGematriaFactors
1בראשית א-להים999=37×27
2בראשית ברא את1517=37×41
3א-להים השמים481=37×13

5בראשית ברא א-להים את השמים1998=37×54
6ואת407=37×11

Amazingly, of these 23 unique word combinations with factor of 37, each word in Genesis 1:1 APPEARS EXACTLY 12 times (note that 12 is the midpoint of 23).

Word# instances
בראשית12
ברא12
א-להים12
את12
השמים12
ואת12
הארץ12

Thus, the total Gematria of the 23 combinations = 2701×12

Interestingly,
Genesis 1:1 = 2701 = 37×73
The 12th prime number is 37
The 21st prime number is 73

Genesis 1:1 has 28 letters with Gematrias.

בראשית(2 + 200 + 1 + 300 + 10 + 400)
ברא(2 + 200 + 1)
א-להים(1 + 30 + 5 + 10 + 40)
את(1 + 400)
השמים(5 + 300 + 40 + 10 + 40)
ואת(6 + 1 + 400)
הארץ(5 + 1 + 200 + 90)

The sum of the Gematrias from the 12th letter to the 21st letter = 851 = 37×23 (discovered by Leo Tavares)

(2 + 200 + 1 + 300 + 10 + 400) + (2 + 200 + 1) + (1 + 30 + 5 + 10 + 40) + (1 + 400) + (5 + 300 + 40 + 10 + 40) + (6 + 1 + 400) + (5 + 1 + 200 + 90) = 851 = 37×23

As before 23 is the number of instances of 37 in the 127 unique word combinations.[3]

Star of David of Wisdom

As before, of these 23 unique word combinations with factor of 37, each word in Genesis 1:1 appears exactly 12 times.

Thus, the Genesis 1:1 triangle of 28 letters can be repeated 12 times. Amazingly, the 12 TRIANGLES FORM A STAR OF DAVID configuration around a center point. This is the hidden Star of David of 73, i.e the star of David of Chochmah (wisdom) itself, not the star of David that is in its own 73, but rather the star of David that each of its triangles is the 73 based!!

Notice in the 12 triangles of the Star of David configuration, we get 6 letters of Tzadik (=90), 6 righteous people surrounding the center point. 6 is Rov (majority) of a Minyan (10). When the 6 righteous people are together, then their value is 6 × 90 = 540. If they connect to the center point, they become whole and get the value of 541 =ישראל (Israel) !!!!!! (heard from Oren Evron, see also his pic below) There is much more to discuss on this incredible configuration.

Mystical Explanation

There are also many layers of mystical meanings on this. Here's one from Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburg:
23 and 37 are one of the most important and ubiquitous pairs of numbers in the creation. These two numbers are first and foremost the numerical values of the names of the two higher aspects of the soul, called the surrounding aspects (makifim): the singular one, יחידה = 37 and the living one, חיה = 23.

Before looking at some of the appearances of these numbers in context of creation let us mention that the soul (especially its two surrounding aspects) is to the body as the light of a sefirah is to its vessel. 23 itself is the numerical value of the word זיו , which means "glow" and is one of the 13 different Hebrew synonyms for "light." Therefore, in our selection of numerical finding involving 23 and 37 in creation, we have stressed those that relate to light.. 23 is also the 10th prime number, while 37 is the 13th prime (see footnote) (13 is the 7th prime, all important creation numbers. note Rabbi Ginsburg uses 1 as the first prime (see footnote)[2]

  • [2] I asked Oren Evron on this and he replied: There are 2 valid ways for the series of primes
Starting from 2, which is the main / most popular way (Where 1 is a class of its own - the unitary)

Starting from 1 which is a prime + primmest but still a prime.
Rabbi Ginsburg likes this more than the popular one.
I spoke with him about it and I said that the two methods are valid
He said he would argue that the 2nd method including 1 is more valid
But he doesn't rule it out
Now, since I see the Torah used both of these, I know for sure they both are valid)... return to text
  • [3] also interesting is that 12 is the exact midpoint of 23 return to text
