(Mishnah): Who is a Besulah [who is Dayah Shaitah]? It is a girl who has never seen blood, even if she is married.

A pregnant woman [is Dayah Shaitah] from the time that her fetus shows;

A nursing woman is Dayah Shaitah [until] she weans her baby;

If she gave her baby to a wet-nurse, or if she (prematurely) weaned him, or he died, R. Meir says, she is retroactively Metamei for 24 hours;

Chachamim say, she is Dayah Shaitah.(for the normal period of nursing, 24 months).

(Gemara): Our Mishnah means [that she is a Besulah] if she never saw Dam Nidah. They said a Besulah for blood, but not (i.e. she need not be) a Besulah for Besulim (virginity).

Sometimes she is a Besulah for blood, but not a Besulah for Besulim. Sometimes she is a Besulah for Besulim, but not a Besulah for blood;

She is a Besulah [only] for blood when she married, and afterwards saw [blood]. She is a Besulah for Besulim when she saw, and afterwards married.
