What did Elokim say "b'Kadsho"?

1.

Rashi: That I (David) will be king over them.

2.

Rashi (60:8) #1: He will gather the exiles, and [David's] seed will rule over them.

3.

Rashi (60:8) #2: That He will help me - "Ki b'Yad David Avdi Oshi'a Es Ami Yisrael" (Shmuel II, 3:18).

4.

Malbim (60:8): David said "va'Aneni" (verse 7); this is Hashem's answer.

2)

Over what will David rejoice?

1.

Rashi: Over fulfillment of His word [that I will be king].

2.

Rashi (60:8): Hashem's salvation.

3.

Malbim (60:8): Hashem rejoices [over the enemy's success, due to what will result from it; refer to 60:9:2:3, 60:11:1:3].

3)

Why does it say "Achalkah Shechem"?

1.

Rashi: I will give to them a portion in their enemies' property. Shechem is a portion, like "Shechem Echad Al Achecha" (Bereishis 48:22).

2.

Rashi (60:8): I will return to them the inheritance of their father Yakov.

3.

Radak (1): Shechem was from Malchus Yosef. In the future, it will be under Melech Yehudah - "va'Asisim l'Etz Echad v'Hayu Echad b'Yadi", "v'Avdi David Melech Aleihem v'Ro'eh Echad Yihyeh l'Chulam", "v'Lo Yihyu Od li'Shnei Goyim v'Lo Yechatzu li'Shtei Mamlachos Od" (Yechezkel 37:19, 24, 22).

4.

Malbim (60:8): The enemy captured Shechem and divided its spoils among them.

4)

What is the meaning of "v'Emek Sukos Amaded"?

1.

Rashi #1 (60:8): I do not know from which nation is Sukos, nor where is Sukos to which Yisrael went when they left Ramses.

2.

Rashi #2 (60:8): [I will measure Emek Sukos] when I apportion it to Yisrael. Shechem and Sukos were at the end of Eretz Kena'an, like we find that the beginning of Yakov's entry in Eretz Yisrael was via Sukos (after he met and left Esav) and Shechem.

3.

Rashi #3 (60:8): Sukos is an expression of forms and replicas - "Es Sikus Melkechem" (Amos 5:26). I will measure their form - "Shnei Chavalim Lehamis u'Malei ha'Chavel Lehachayos" (Shmuel II, 8:2).

4.

Radak (1): Sukos was from Malchus Yosef. Refer to 108:8:3:3.

5.

Malbim (60:8): The enemy measured the land of Emek Sukos in order to inherit it.
