Radak: I request to learn only for the sake of Your Avodah. Therefore, make me understand the essence and reasons [of Your Edos].
2.
Malbim: Make me understand Your Edos until I will know them clearly. This does not require Chesed. You are obligated to do so, for I am Avdecha! A master explains to his slave his exposed conduct.
