What is the significance of "Chatzi Medaber Ashdodis?"?

Rashi: Many of their children spoke Ashdodis, like their mothers.
2.
Malbim: Their children speak a mixed language - half Yehudis and half Ashdodis. Therefore, they could not speak any language properly - "v'Einam Makirim Ledaber Yehudis" nor "vechi'Lshon Am va'Am."
