1)

What is "Tachtav" referring to?

1.

Rashi: It is referring (not to what is underneath the Merkav, but) to the Merkav that is underneath the Zav, to teach us that, as opposed to Mishkav and Moshav, Merkav renders Tamei Adam, but not the clothes that he is wearing.

2.

Nidah, 33a: The Pasuk means that one touched something which is on the Zav 1 - 'Elyono shel Zav', 2

1

Nidah, (Ibid.): Because if it meant literally 'whatever is underneath the Zav', we already know that from Pasuk 5.

2

See Torah Temimah, note 41.

2)

What is the latter half of the Pasuk - "ve'ha'Nosei osam ... " coming to teach us?

1.

Rashi #1: One who carries anything mentioned about a Zav (as well the Zav himself - Rashi in Sabbos, 82b) - his Zivus, his spit, his Zera and his urine, his Mishkav and even his Merkav, he and the clothes become Tamei.

2.

Rashi #2 (in Shabbos, 82b): It is referring to Even Mesama - If a Zav is sitting on a large stone that is supported by four posts and touches Keilim underneath it, the Keilim are Tamei. 1

1

Even though they are not supporting the weight of the stone on which the Zav is sitting. Refer also to 15:4:2:1.

3)

What is the word "ve'ha'Nosei osam" coming to preclude?

1.

Nidah, 55a: It precludes E'ven Mesame 1 from Elyono shel Zav - "Osam", 've'Lo Even Mesame'.

1

Refer to 15:10:2:2.
