Here it says that Asa did not have war until his 35th year. Melachim I, 15:16 says that he and Basha had war all their days, and Basha died in Asa's 26th year, for then his son Elah became king (ibid., 16:8)!

1.

'Rashi' (14:6): Asa did not have war with Melech Kush until his 35th year.

2.

Radak: Asa did not have war with Yisrael until his 35th year, but he had war with the Kushim in his 15th year.

3.

Malbim: The 35 years are counted from when the kingship split - 17 of Rechav'am (texts that say 'Yaravam' are mistaken), three of his son Avyah, and 15 of Asa. Verse 10 says that they gathered in Asa's 15th year; it was after the war with Zerach ha'Kushi, for they offered the spoils that they took (verse 11)!
