Does this apply to specifically to a Kesil?
Malbim: Yes. The Evvil is unsure about the laws of Chachmah. However, he desires Tevunah. If he could understand everything with Tevunah without Safek, he would prefer this. A Kesil knows the laws of Chachmah without Safek, just his desire urges him, therefore he argues with Chachmah. He does not desire Tevunah at all, only images of desire revealed on the heart. According to the images of the heart that reveal the depth of the Nefesh, for good or for bad, he will do, even if he realizes that they are not good.
What is the connection of not desiring Tevunah, and revealing his heart?
Rashi: His desire is only for the latter.
R. Yonah: When a Kesil speaks in Chachmah, he does not desire to understand and know the Emes, only to glorify and reveal his heart and the depth of his thought. Therefore, he does not listen to another's words, nor consider them. This shows that he does not seek Tevunah! If he did, he would hear, considered and weigh the words, in order to determine the Emes.
