What is the meaning of "v'Navkah Ru'ach"?

Rashi: Its Chachmah will be emptied. This is like "Bokek ha'Aretz" (24:1).

Radak: This is Nif'al conjugation, like "Gefen Bokek" (Hoshe'a 10:1). It refers to being empty. No spirit of Chachmah or understanding will remain; they will not know to take counsel for themselves.

3.

Malbim: The spirit of Chachmah and Gevurah of Egypt, who were always Chachamim and Giborim, will be emptied from them.

What is the meaning of "va'Atzaso Avale'a"?

1.

Radak: The matter is repeated in different words. Avale'a is destruction. It says so about Egypt, for they had witches and Chachamim, and when they saw that their counsel is lost, they sought idols and Itim (refer to 19:3:3:2).

Malbim: The counsel that they already had, in matters of war and conducting the country, will be destroyed.

What is the significance of seeking these matters?

Malbim: When they are empty of all counsel and Gevurah, they will seek folly that has no benefit.

What are "ha'Itim"?

1.

Rashi: It is one of the names of idolatry.

Radak citing Targum Yonasan: They are Chrashim (witches). Targum Onkelos of "Mechashefah Lo Sechayeh" (Shemos 22:17) is 'Charasha Lo Sachei.'
