Is this Kalev ben Yefuneh?
Radak (from Sotah 11b): Some say that it is 1 . He is called ben Yefuneh, for he was Mefaneh (cleared) himself from the Meraglim's counsel. We find "Osni'el ben Kenaz Achi Kalev" - he was a maternal brother. This is why Kalev is called Kenizi, but not Ben Kenaz (he was his step-son).
Radak: It seems that Kalev was one of Chetzron's first sons 2 .
Radak: The simple meaning of the verses is unlike this. If so, Chetzron fathered him at the age of 170, for Chetzron descended to Egypt (Bereishis 46:12), and Kalev ben Yefuneh was 40 when the Meraglim were sent 210 years later!
I.e. Kalev was born before Chetzron took Bas Machir, when he was 60 (verse 21). (PF)
Who were Azuvah and Yeri'os?
Sotah 12a: Both refer to Miryam. She is called Azuvah, for at first everyone Azvuha 1 . It says that Kalev fathered her, for one who marries a woman l'Shem Shamayim, it is considered as if he fathered her. She is called Yeri'os, for her face was like Yeri'os (without any redness, due to illness). We read "v'Eleh Baneha" like Boneha (the one who built her, i.e. her husband). Kalev is called "Yashar", for he straightened himself. He is called "Shovev", for he veered (Shivev) his Yetzer Ra (from following the Meraglim), He is called "Ardon", for he was Rodeh (ruled) over his Yetzer. Others say, it is because his face resembled a Varad (rose).
'Rashi': Kalev had a wife named Azuvah; the coming verse says "va'Tamas Azuvah va'Yikach Lo Kalev Es Efras." Therefore, he named his daughter Azuvah Ishah. Malbim - this is like Azuvah Ishti. Also Yeri'os was his daughter - the verse lists her sons.
Radak: The coming verse implies that Azuvah and Yeri'os were his wives. Chazal asked, does one father his wives?! I say that "Holid Es Azuvah" is like Min Azuvah (he fathered via her). We find like this - "k'Tzeisi Es ha'Ir" (is like Min ha'Ir). Chetzron fathered from Azuvah and Yeri'os - both of them were his wives, and both bore children to him. The Sefer lists his sons only 2 from one of them, i.e. Azuvah. Malbim - it says Azuvah Ishah, for Yeri'os was only a Pilegesh.
Malbim: Azuvah was his wife. He fathered Es (with) her v'Es Yeri'os. V'Es is part of her name, like we find "Es v'Hav [b'Sufah]" - these were two Metzora'im (Berachos 54a). Also below (48), v'Es is part of a name. We find that an initial Vov can be part of a name - "u'Vnei Eleh u'Kenaz", "v'Eleh Roshei Beis Avosam v'Efer" (4:15. 5:24). "Ishah" teaches that v"Es Yeri'os is the name of his daughter.
What do we learn from "v'Eleh Baneha"?
'Rashi': We read this like Boneha (her husband).
Radak (42): Kalev already had children; he fathered these from Azuvah.
