What is the meaning of "v'Gadalti v'Hisafti"?
Ibn Ezra: Gadalti is Po'el Omed (the action applies only to the subject). I was great in all my matters. I added grandeur in worldly matters.
Rashbam: I grew in wealth, to do all these matters with my wealth and honor.
Seforno: I grew in the eyes of the Goyim, and added to the norm - "va'Ya'as ha'Melech Kisei Shen;
Why does it say "Af Chachmasi"?
Rav Sadya Gaon: Due to the foundation of my knowledge and Chachmah.
Rashi: Also my Chachmah - I did not abandon it due to all these deeds.
Rashbam: I also had Chachmah [of worldly matters]. Both of them are Hevel in my eyes. The three things that Hashem gave to me - wealth, Chachmah and life - are all Hevel. Our verse mentions wealth and Chachmah 1 ; below discusses life - "v'Saneisei Es ha'Chayim" (17).
