What is "Tikvas"?

1.

Rashi: It is from the root "Kav" 1 (line) or rope.

2.

Radak: It is a Kav (rope) twined from scarlet threads.

3.

Radak citing Targum Yonasan: It is the edge of a scarlet garment. They said "ha'Zeh"

1

Radak: This is like "va'Yichlu b'Efes Tikvah" (Iyov 7:6; when the thread snaps, the garment is ruined).

2)

Why is there a Tzeirei under the Tav in "Horadtenu"? There should be a Chirik!

1.

Radak: Sometimes they are interchanged, like Yaf'il and Yaf'el.
