What is the meaning of "l'Yom Eid Yechashech Ra [l'Yom Avaros Yuvalu]"?

Rashi: A Rasha is withheld from evil. It is guarded for the day fixed for his demise 1 , like "Asher Chasachti l'Es Tzar." I concealed and darkened them, so they will not be revealed until the day of war.

Ibn Ezra: It is for a dark day. Also "v'Eid Ya'aleh Min ha'Aretz" refers to clouds and darkness.
