What does the Torah mean when it writes that Avraham built the Mizbe'ach? Which Mizbe'ach?
Targum Yonasan: It is referring to the Mizbe'ach that Adam built and that Noach rebuilt after it was destroyed in the Flood. It was destroyed again in the generation of the Tower, and Avraham now rebuilt it. 1
Why does the Torah write "va'Ya'akod" and not "va'Yikshor"?
Rashi: "La'akod" means to tie the hands and the feet together at the back. 1
Gur Aryeh: How do we know that the Akeidah was in such a manner? The purpose of the binding was to prevent involuntary movement [that might invalidate the Shechitah], and this form of binding is most effective for that purpose.
