What is the significance of the seven days of Sukos followed by the eighth day?

Ramban (according to Kabalah): The seven days represent the seven days of the Creation 1 and they are followed by Shemini Atzeres - , "la'Menatze'ach al ha'Sheminis" (Tehilim, 6:1). 2

Moshav Zekenim: Sukos is for seven days, corresponding to the seven Clouds of Glory - one above, one below, four in the four directions, and one that went in front of and led Yisrael in the Midbar.

Ramban: "ve'Chagosem" stems from the word "Chug", a circle (as in Yeshayah, 44:13), or an orbit of time (as in Iyov, 22:14).

What is the definition of "Chag"?

Chagigah, 10b: Based on the Pasuk in Mishpatim Sh'mos, 23:19 "ve'Lo Yalin Cheilev Chagi ad Boker", 1 it refers to the Korban Chagigah.

How will we reconcile "Oso" - implying one day, with "Shiv'as Yamim"?

Chagigah, 9a: "Shiv'as Yamim" teaches us the Din of Tashlumin - that if one did not manage to bring the Shalmei Chagigah on the first day of Sukos, one may bring it on the subsequent days. 1

Why does the Torah add the (otherwise superfluous) phrase "ba'Chodesh ha'Shevi'i Tachogu oso"?

Chagigah, 9a: ba'Chodesh ha'Sevi'i comes to incorporate the entire Yom-Tov in the Din of Tashlumin - even Shemini Atzeres, 1 and "Oso", that the Heter of Tashlumin is confined to the Yom-Tov and not to the remainder of the month.

Seeing as Tashlumin applies on Shemini Atzeres as well, why does the Torah write "Shivas Yamim" and not 'Shemonas Yamim?

Having written "Tachogu es Chag Hashem Shiv'as Yamim" in Pasuk 39, why does the Torah write "ve'Chagosem oso Chag la'Hashem here"?

Rashi (in Chagigah, 7b): To teach us that, although the Olas Re'iyah and Shalmei Chagigah have seven days of Tashlumin, the basic Mitzvah is to bring them on the first day of Sukos, as implied by the word "Oso". 1

Moshav Zekenim: In anticipaton of Yaravam ben N'vat, who concocted a Chag in Cheshvan, the Torah is warning us here to celebrate the Chag only in the proper time of the Chag. 2

Beitzah, 19a: To teach us that one may bring Shalmei Chagigah and Olos Re'iyah and perform Semichah on them on Yom-Tov.

Why does the Torah insert the word "ve'Chagosem oso Chag la'Hashem"?

Moshav Zekenim: We could explain that the [Korban] Chagigah is for Hashem, but the Sukah is not. However, the Gemara in Beitzah, 30b states that Shem Shamayim takes effect on the Sukah, 1 and that the wood is therefore Asur be'Hana'ah all seven days because it is Muktzah for the Mitzvah, or [to avoid] disgrace of the Mitzvah.
