What is "Te'unim Hel'as"?

1.

Rashi: With a pretext and guile you wearied the Aniyim - therefore, the Resha'im in [the city] will not leave it; the fire of punishment will consume them.

2.

Radak: The root of Te'unim is Aven (sin). She wearied herself with lies. This is like "Ha'ave Nil'u" (Yirmeyah 9:4).

3.

Malbim: With grief and mourning you wearied the pot to melt the filth and Tum'ah.

2)

What do we learn from "v'Lo Setzei Mimenah Rabas Chel'asah"?

1.

Radak, Malbim: [Its filth] cannot leave it, for it has great filth.

3)

What do we learn from "b'Esh Chel'asah"?

1.

Radak: Since it has great filth, the only solution is that the filth will be absorbed into the pot - "Titum Chel'asah" (11).

2.

Malbim: There is so much filth that it is found also in fire; the fire does not burn it. I.e. the Resha'im are many; they were not totally eradicated.
