What do we learn from "u'Re'evim Nas'u Omer"?
Rashi #1: From the hungry, they took the sheaves of Leket.
Rashi #2: People were carrying an Omer - they went hungry, for Resha'im stole it from them.
Ibn Ezra: They took an Omer from hungry people.
Malbim: The Aniyim, whom the Resha'im took for slaves, carry sheaves for their masters. They are hungry - the masters do not let them taste from what they carry, the opposite of "Lo Sachsom Shor b'Disho 1 ."
Malbim explained that they carry shaves, i.e. unfinished detached food that need not be tithed yet. A worker is entitled to eat from it (Bava Metzi'a 87a). (PF)
