What is "Yerofafu"?

1.

Rashi: They are soft. Ibn Ezra #1 - this is like "Yirpu".

2.

Ibn Ezra #2: They move.

3.

What are Amudei Shamayim?

1.

Malbim: It is the action of the movement of the Galgalim and Ma'arachah on the land. The land stands on their gravitational pull on the earth.

What does the verse teach?

1.

Rashi: Shamayim's pillars were soft. Hashem rebuked them, and they dried and hardened, like one who is startled and stands in one place.

2.

Malbim: The rain cycle is based on the elements. It has no connection to the Ma'arachah. This statute shouts, as if it is a ruler, and the connection of Amudei Shamayim to the land softens (it is seen that the Ma'arachah does not rule over everything).
