Why will they be life for you?

1.

Rashi: "Etz Chayim Hi" (18).

2.

Malbim: The Nefesh is called alive only when it uses its powers to act according to Chachmah. If not, even if the body is alive and feels, the spiritual Nefesh is dead, and as if it does not exist.

2)

Why does it say "v'Chen l'Gargerosecha"?

1.

Rashi: This praise is said above "va'Anakim l'Gargerosecha" (1:9).

2.

R. Yonah: When you guard the Torah, when you rebuke others your words will be heeded, for you fulfill nicely and expound nicely (Chagigah 14b). "Hiskosheshu va'Koshu" (Tzefanyah 2:1) - correct yourself, and afterwards correct others.

3.

Malbim: When you speak with your throat and teach the ways of Chachmah to others, you will fund grace in the eyes of Elokim and Adam, like we explained above (refer to 3:4:1:3).
