What is "Sorer"?

Rashi: It is an expression of "Sirim" (Yeshayah 34:13; thorns). He scattered thorns on my paths. Ibn Ezra #1 - this is like "Hineni Shach Es Darkech ba'Sirim" (Hoshe'a 2:8). ;Shach] is from the root "l'Shikim b'Eineichem 1 " (Bamidbar 33:55).

Ibn Ezra #2: It is a verb in past tense, like "k'Farah Sorerah" (Hoshe'a 4:16).

Palgei Mayim: This refers to "Dov Orev" (10). He ambushed so much to make me stumble, that He strewed the paths of Torah and Mitzvos with thorns to the point that I cannot do them.

What is "va'Yfashecheni"?

Rashi: He made me separate my legs. One who walks on paths that are not smooth (He scattered thorns on my paths) must spread his legs. The Gemara discusses one who Pashach a date tree (Mo'ed Katan 10b). Ibn Ezra - the Targum of "va'Yshasef Shmuel" (Shmuel I, 15:33) is u'Fshach Shmuel.

Rid: He removed my branches. This is like a tree that was Nifshach (Shevi'is 4:6).

Palgei Mayim: He made me so evil that I trampled on Torah and Mitzvos.

Why does it say "Shomem"?

1.

Ibn Ezra: Anyone who sees it is Shomem (stunned).

2.

Palgei Mayim: He made me desolate at the time of punishment.
