Regarding Osni'el, it said (verse 10) "va'Tehi Alav Ru'ach Hashem." Why does it not say so about Ehud?
Malbim (15): Ehud did not kill Eglon via strength. Rather, since he was a lefty, he was able to hide his sword on the right, and since he had a gift, he was able to come to the king.
Why did he make a double-edged sword?
Malbim: It was so it would stab Eglon well.
How much is a Gomed?
Why was it on his right thigh?
Rashi: This would enable it to take it [easily] in his left hand; he was a lefty.
QUESTIONS ON RASHI
Rashi writes that the sword was only a short (or half) Amah long. Why was it so short?
Malbim: This was so it would not be seen [sticking out of his garment].
