Rashi: This is like "Yisrah Asah" - their pride and Chochmah will wither in their bodies. Nisa is like "Bal Yisa Yeseidosav."

Devar Eliyahu: Man has three kinds of success - Chochmah, Gevurah and wealth. "Al Yis'halel Chacham b'Chochmaso v'Al Yis'halel Gibor bi'Gevuraso Al Yis'halel Ashir b'Ashro." The angel appointed over pregnancy... Hashem decrees whether the person will be strong or weak, wise or foolish, and rich or poor (Nidah 16b). The verse says not to pride oneself [for these three, for they were decreed]. One may pride himself for "Haskel v'Yode'a Osi" - Nevu'ah. The three correspond to the three parts of man - Nefesh, body and acquisitions. Chochmah is in the Nefesh, Gevurah in the body, and wealth in acquisitions. At death, Yisram (their money, which is not part of them,) and [their strength, which is] Bam, depart.

Malbim: Yisram is their wealth - excesses that are not part of them.

Ibn Ezra: Their Chochmah was to gather money. The verse teaches that man was created only to learn Chochmah.

Devar Eliyahu: At death, only Chochmah will remain in the intellectual Nefesh. However, Resha'im did not receive Chochmah in their lives, so they remain without anything.

Malbim: They die without Chochmah ¹ , lest they be punished with death. It is better that they be afflicted with poverty, to exempt them from death. Also temporary afflictions are good for them, to avoid perishing forever.
