How does one acquire Chachmah and Binah?
R. Yonah: Be diligent to learn Torah, and know what to answer an Apikoros (Avos 2:14). From Chachmah one comes to Yir'ah, and to understand Tzedek and Mishpat.
Malbim: They should cling to his Nefesh. In [the author's] words you will find both Chachmah (ways of conduct to which good and evil apply to) and Binah (discerning between Emes and Sheker in Emunos and mindsets).
Why does it say "Al Tishkach v'Al Tet me'Imrei Fi"?
R. Yonah: When you acquire Chachmah and Binah, do not forget this Musarim, and do not veer from them in practice. Do not forget them due to exertion in engaging in Chachmah, and do not cease to engage in fixing Midos and introspecting to find counsel how to fulfill. Learning is not primary, rather, actions (Avos 1:17) - "v'Nede'ah Nirdefah" (Hoshe'a 6:3).
Malbim: Do not veer from my words, not due to forgetting, and not via letting the Yetzer of desire veer you from the proper path.
