1)

What is the grammatical form of "ha'Kitar"?

1.

Radak: It is a noun, like "veha'Diber Ein Bahem" (5:13), "Li Nakam v'Shilem" (Devarim 32:35).

2)

Why did he say "Kitartem... Atem va'Avoseichem"?

1.

Malbim: You said that in the days of Achaz and Menasheh, they served idolatry constantly, but the evil came only now, when most people serve Hashem. Indeed, idolatry decreased, but you constantly burn [to Meleches ha'Shamayim], like your fathers!

3)

Why does it say "Osam Zachar Hashem"?

1.

Radak: [He remembered] everything that you burned to idolatry. There were many gods [that they served] - "Ki Mispar Arecha [Hayu Elohecha Yehudah]" (2:28). Each had its own Haktarah; ha'Kitar is a Klal (for all Haktaros).

2.

Malbim: You say that the punishment did not come when they served idolatry constantly, only now that they slackened. Hashem remembered, just He waited until your measure of sin was filled!

4)

What is the meaning of "va'Ta'aleh Al Libo"?

1.

Radak: Your Haktarah came on His heart. The verse refers to it in the masculine (Osam) and feminine (va'Ta'aleh 1 ).

1

Radak already mentioned that there were many Haktaros; the singular applies to the Klal. (PF)

5)

Did Yirmeyah refute all their claims?

1.

Malbim: Yes. You say that the Haktarah is not for worship, only for a Segulah. The same applies to what was done in Arei Yehudah and Yerushalayim, and Hashem was angry. This shows that it is an abomination! Also refer to 44:21:2:1, 44:21:3:2.
