What is the meaning of "v'Hayah l'Adam Leva'er"?
Rashi: Part of the wood will be for man to burn.
Radak: When he cuts wood with intent for an idol, the pieces cut off will be used for burning, heating and baking.
Why does it say "va'Yikach Mehem va'Yacham"?
Rashi: He takes from the wood, and warms his body [via burning it]. Malbim - this shows that the wood has no Kedushah. He gets bodily benefit from it!
What is "Yasik"?
Rashi: It is igniting an oven.
Why does it say "v'Afah Lechem"? It is bread only after it is baked!
Radak: This is like va'Tachani Kamach" (47:2; the verse discusses what will be at the end).
Why does it say "Af Yif'al El [va'Yishtachu]"?
Rashi: He makes an idol from the leftover wood [and bows to it]. Malbim - this refers to those who think that it is divine.
Why does it add "Asahu Fesel va'Yisgad Lamo"?
Malbim: This refers to those who know that it is not divine, just they think that its form helps to draw influence from above.
