Radak: Had you known before [the enemy] came upon you, you would have fled. However, now that you did not know, for the evil came suddenly on you, you were found in your place and caught.

Radak citing Targum Yonasan: Your guilt was sought, and it was found.

Malbim: This answers the second astonishment - how is Bavel desolate among the nations? It always had mighty helpers! It is because you were found and caught in the trap, and they sought you. All this was because you quarreled with Hashem.

What is the meaning of "Hisgaris"?

Radak: It is waging a quarrel, like "v'Al Tisgar Bam Milchamah" (Devarim 2:9).
