Why did he say "Mi Yiten

1.

Rashi: Let the day come close.

2.

Radak (14:7): We should merit to see the salvation!

3.

Malbim: At the time [of the salvation from Sancheriv,] they hoped for the great salvation, the return of the exiled 10 tribes.

2)

Why did he say "mi'Tziyon"?

1.

Radak: It is the capitol of Malchus Yisrael, and [Hashem's] honor dwelled there. The salvation will come from there.

2.

Malbim: May the salvation (return of exiles) come from Tziyon.

3)

Why does it say "Yeshu'os" (plural)? Above (14:7), it "Yeshu'ah" (singular)!

1.

Radak (6): These are the same.

4)

What is the meaning of "b'Shuv"?

1.

Radak (14:7) #1: It is Po'el Yotzei (it acts on others), like b'Hashiv (when Hashem will return Yisrael).

2.

Radak (14:7) #2: It is when Hashem will give rest [to Yisrael], like "b'Shuvah va'Nachas Tivashe'un" (Yeshayah 30:15).

3.

Malbim (14:7): At the time of the salvation from Sancheriv, Hashem returned the exile of His nation 1 .

1

I.e. other cities of Yehudah that Sancheriv had conquered. However, here Malbim explains that we discuss the 10 tribes. This is difficult. No one says that they returned at this time! (PF)

5)

Why did he say "Yagel Yakov Yismach Yisrael"?

1.

Radak (14:7): Now they are sad and mourning in exile.

2.

Malbim: "Yakov" refers to the 10 tribes; they will have Gil (rejoicing over a new matter; until now they were cast off). "Yisrael" refers to Yehudah; their Simchah is constant.
