What do we learn from "ha'Shochevim Al Mitos Shen u'Sruchim Al Arsosam"?

1.

Shabbos 62b #1: They would urinate naked in front of their beds 1 . (They would not bother to go outside.)

2.

Rashi citing Shabbos 62b #2: They would eat and drink together, stick their beds together and swap wives; making their beds stink with others' semen.

3.

Rashi: They lie and stretch themselves on their beds.

4.

Radak: They indulged in food, drink, anointing, lying on nice sheets, and hearing musical instruments. They did not remember the day of punishments, and were not ill and pained over those who were exiled. Seruchim is like "v'Serach ha'Odef" (Shemos 26:12). They put long, wide garments on the bed that exceed its length and width All these are kinds of pleasure.

5.

Malbim: The bed is for reclining on it during the day and at night. Eres is special for women, children 2 , Cholim and pampered people, at night. They lied on beds of ivory (tusks), and on Arsos special for lying with women, they lied Seruchim, i.e. harlots Seruchos (sinking with semen). They are gluttonous and drink with their Zonos.

1

62b: R. Avahu rejected this. This is not a reason to be exiled first!

2

It says about Og "Arso Eres Barzel" (Devarim 3:11)! We can say that this when he was a child. (PF)

What are "Karim"?

1.

Rashi: They are [Radak ? fat] lambs. Radak ? the adjective is omitted, for it is understood. The same applies to "ka'Tzemer Yihyu" (Yeshayah 1:18) ? they will be like white wool. "Meluvashim Begadim" (Melachim I, 22:10) - they wear coveted clothes, like royal clothing. "V'Yesh b'Edro Zachar" (Mal'achi 1:14) ? a Tam (unblemished) male.

2.

Radak citing Targum Yonasan: They are fattened animals from the flock.

3)

What is "Marbek"?

1.

Rashi: It is a stall where they gather calves [Radak, Malbim ? to fatten them]. The same applies to "vela'Ishah Egel Marbek" (Shmuel I, 28:24). Chazal said 'he entered it to the Ravkah, and it threshed' (Bava Metzi'a 30a).
