Erchin 33a: We infer that Yovel applied at the time 1 . If not, the Navi would not prophesize that it will become Batel!

Rashi: When he is exiled, he will not return to see the land that he sold. Why should he mourn?

Radak: Torah law is, one who sells his land in Eretz Yisrael, in Yovel he returns to his inheritance. They will not, for they will be in Galus.

4.

Malbim: The seller will not be sad, for in any case he will not return to it, for the land will be desolate.

33a: Even though Yovel ceased when Shevet Reuven was exiled, we must say that Yirmeyahu returned the exiles and Yoshiyahu ruled over them.

What do we learn from "v'Od ba'Chayim Chayasam"?

Rashi: All their lives, they will not return to their place.

2.

Radak: Even though they will be alive, they will not return to what they sold, for they will be in exile in another land. Chayasam is their Nefesh. The same applies to "v'Chayasam ba'Kedeshim", "v'Chayaso ba'Or Tir'eh" (Iyov 36:14, 33:28).

Malbim: One who sold profited - via selling his field, he left the land and remained alive. Also one who sold and was in the land, Nevuzaradan left them for "Chormim v'Yogvim 1 "; he killed the land-owners and Ashirim via the sword.

What is the meaning of "Ki Chazon El Kol Hamonah Lo Yashuv"?

Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: The Navi prophesizes about all the tumult to return you in Teshuvah, and you did not repent.

Radak: When this vision was told to the multitude they did not repent, even though Nevi'im warned them morning and evening.

Malbim #1: This prophecy for the masses will not be retracted; it will come upon them!

Malbim #2: There was a harsh prophecy for the masses - why do they not retract from their evil ways?!

What do we learn from "v'Ish ba'Avano Chayaso"?

1.

Rashi: Each one of them, his life and Nefesh clings to his sin.

2.

Malbim #1: Each man lives a life of sin.

3.

Malbim #2: Each man's life depends on his sin - due to it, he will die!

What will not be strengthened?

1.

Rashi: Their hearts will not overpower their Yetzer to return to their Torah.

2.

Malbim #1: They do not strengthen themselves to greet the enemy.

3.

Malbim #2: Why do they not invigorate themselves to repent?!
