1)

To where should she return?

1.

Rashi: Return from going after Hashem.

2.

Seforno: The Nevi'im called to her in the name of Hashem, e.g. "Shuvu Elai v'Ashuvah Aleichem" (Mal'achi 3:7), "Hoy Tziyon Himalti Yosheves Bas Bavel" (Zecharyah 2:11).

3.

Malbim (Melitzah): When bodily matters heard that [the Divine Nefesh] is prepared to go to its ultimate abode, they tell it, return to us - do not separate from us!

4.

Malbim (Mashal): After she told Bnos Yerushalayim that she is prepared to return to her nation and beloved, they request that she not abandon them, and return to Chadrei Shlomo.

2)

Why is she called "Shulamis"?

1.

Rashi: She is Shalem (complete) in her Emunah with Him.

2.

Malbim (Melitzah): She is Eshes Shlomo - she used to conduct the body (ha'Melech Shlomo).

3)

Why does it say again "Shuvi Shuvi"?

1.

Rashi: Return to us.

2.

Malbim (Melitzah): Return to temporary life.

4)

What is the meaning of "v'Nechezeh Bach"?

1.

Rashi citing Tanchuma: We will appoint rulers from you. This is like "v'Atah Sechezeh mi'Kol ha'Am" (Shemos 18:21).

2.

Rashi: We will contemplate you - what greatness was given to you?

3.

Seforno: When you will be in Eretz Yisrael, He will make His Shechinah rest amidst us. Nechezeh (we will see) visions from Hashem; it will not be the end of visions.

4.

Malbim (Melitzah): All of us will be submissive under you to fulfill your desire. From now, you will rule over us.

5)

Who says "Mah Techezu ba'Shulamis"?

1.

Rashi: She says so - what greatness can you allot for me that will equal my greatness, even the greatness of my Degalim (refer to 7:1:6:1)?

2.

Seforno: I asked the Nevi'im, what do you see? Can you give a new Torah? This will never happen, for 'from now [after Moshe], a Navi may not teach new Halachos' (Shabbos 104a).

3.

Malbim (Melitzah): The Nefesh answers, how can I rule over you, and you will obey me? Refer to 7:1:6:3.

4.

Malbim (Mashal): How could you honor me like a queen? I am like a captive, surrounded by two camps that guard me!

6)

What are "ki'Mcholos ha'Machanayim"?

1.

Rashi: They were the encampments in the Midbar in a Mechol (circle, around the Mishkan).

2.

Seforno: [Can you give a new Torah] like occurred to Yisrael in the Midbar [when] they were like a Mechol (circle) around two Machanos - Machaneh Shechinah and Machaneh Levi?

3.

Malbim (Melitzah): Among you, I am like one surrounded by two camps. (a) Machaneh Elokim and a legion of Kedoshim - the camp of the Yetzer Tov, who request that I refrain from all worldly desires, and sanctify myself for Torah, Avodah and separation. (b) The camp of the Satan and troops of the Yetzer ha'Ra and bodily matters. They request that I fulfill bodily desires in every sinful matter. How can I dwell serenely among you, between two camps?! 'Woe to me from Yotzri (Hashem, who formed me, if I succumb to my Yetzer ha'Ra); woe to me from Yitzri (my Yetzer ha'Ra will torment me if I obey Yotzri) (Brachos 61a).

4.

Malbim (Mashal): Refer to 7:1:5:4.
