Who is Meriv Ba'al?

Redak: In Sefer Shmuel, he is called Mefivoshes - also this shows that Ba'al is in place of Boshes! Meriv is in place of Mefi - they are similar, for Merivah (quarrel) is via the mouth. [Chazal] knew why he is called so - we do not know 1 .

Shabbos 56b: He is called Meriv Ba'al because he made a Merivah with his Ba'al (Master).
